This Warehouse Audit Simulation was created for the Department of Accounting at NC State University using the Unity3D engine. It was designed to immerse students in a virtual environment where they could conduct a realistic inventory audit at a local brewery—bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
Within the simulation, students navigate the brewery warehouse, inspect inventory, and interact with AI-driven warehouse bots to gather information and assess the accuracy of inventory records. The virtual setting allows learners to practice core auditing skills in a safe, engaging, and repeatable environment that mirrors real-world scenarios.
Developed in partnership with a local game development studio, Rhombus Learning played a key role in defining the simulation’s instructional and technical requirements, providing iterative design feedback, and ensuring the final product was pedagogically sound and seamlessly integrated into the course. The result is a powerful experiential learning tool that enhances student engagement and supports mastery of auditing concepts in a dynamic, hands-on format.
