STEMwork Professional Learning Institute
Rhombus Learning worked with the Kenan Fellows to create the STEMwork Professional Learning Institute – a blended learning experience to facilitate North Carolina K-12 educators in establishing and sustaining education/business partnerships with local STEM employers. It also provides a framework for taking those partnerships into the classroom through project-based learning.
STEMwork consisted of eight online ayschronous sessions. Topics included:
Education-Business Partnerships
PBL Content Standards Alignment
The PBL Public Product
PBL Assessments and Rubrics
Mapping the PBL Project
Group Dynamics / Teacher Management
Assembling the Pieces
Ongoing Industry Partnerships
All session were developed in Articulate Rise and were delivered through Moodle. Sessions incorporated a mixture of green screen video, video interviews, Storyline interactives, infographics, text, images, worksheets, and VoiceThread discussions.
Rhombus Learning also helped create facilitator guide modules to accompany each of these sessions.
